Condition: Excellent. The carbine retains 95% plus of the original blue finish on the barrel and receiver. Nearly 95% of the delicate niter blue finish is present on the pistol components. 75% of the niter blue finish remains on the stock attachment. The bolt has all of the original bright finish. All of the markings are crisp. The bore is bright. The stock and forearm have light handling wear, with the most significant mark a small nick on the right side of the forearm in front of the magazine. This is an outstanding example of a rare Mauser Model 1896 Small Ring Hammer Carbine. This is the highest documented serial number Small Ring Hammer Carbine.
